Digital Convergence (2009)
2010
The project identified software being developed by Australian community radio stations that could be useful for other stations. Nine software projects were identified within the sector and surveys were issued to stations asking them (a) which resources they were most interested in getting access too (b) Whether they were willing to back the developers to complete their software projects by providing letters of support (for grant applications) and/or provide financial investment and (c) if prepared to back financially, how much would their station be prepared to invest.
Survey results were collated and provided to the community broadcasting foundation and stations that were developing software to encourage them to develop software for wider sector use. To date four of the software resources identified have received grant funding for further development, and two are being competed solely through station investment.
